About Saputara Tourism

Saputara is a well liked hill station municipality and town established in the Dang locality in the southern part of Gujarat. It is established in a plateau in the Dang plantation locality of the Sahyadri variety, at an altitude of 1,000 m. This well-planned high ground position lies around 170 km from Surat, 80 km from Nashik and 5 km from the boundary of Maharashtra.

The significance of Saputara is ‘Abode of Serpents’ and because of this there are several images of serpents present on shores of the stream Sarpagana that flows through with the village. The tribal kinship group here worship these images of serpents on exceptional events like Holi.

Saputara is well liked for the several flower beds present here like Lake Garden, Step flower bed and increased flower bed. One of the most popular flower beds in Saputara is the Step flower bed. The exclusive features of the Step flower bed are the design and layout of the steps. Plants and flowerpots with timber work round it support the steps. There are amenities for tourists to stay here in the many Forest Huts.

One of the popular attractions here is the Saputara Lake that abode some gravy boat clubs, projecting amenities for boating. Other than cruising, the Sunset Point in the lagoon boasts a clear view of the Saputara district. Just 52 km from Saputara is the Gira waterfalls, which is a well liked tourist place visited.

Some of the well liked places here include Nageshwar Mahadev Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The depository of Saputara is complete for accumulating knowledge on the Dang tribe. One of the popular events commemorated here is the Dangs Darbar, which is a tribal festivity celebrated before Holi festival.
